Contemporary Art Quarterly

June 22nd, 2015

Today we’re happy to officially announce the launch of Contemporary Art Quarterly, an entirely new website devoted to comprehensive archives of important artists’ work.

Every three months, we’ll publish three new archives that document three artists’ practices in extreme detail. These collections will include: images of exhibitions, texts, interviews, lectures, and videos. The first three archives alone contain over 50 gigabytes of material.

We’re incredibly grateful to the first three artists we’ve worked with: Ei Arakawa, Michaela Eichwald, and Josef Strau, both for their help and for the honor of their participation in our project. We hope that Contemporary Art Quarterly will be both a useful resource for those already interested in their work and an impetus for those unfamiliar with the artists to learn more. Make sure to try adjusting the settings to experience the archives in new ways.

Our sincere thanks to all of the institutions, museums, and galleries who kindly shared materials with us for this project.

Please check in on Contemporary Art Quarterly periodically as we update materials and release three more archives later this summer. You can also follow our Office Notebook for occasional spotlights on material from Quarterly and news relating to the project. If you find a bug or an error or have any other feedback for us, please let us know.
